Description
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is soliciting construction bids for approximately 2.5 miles of roadway safety improvements on Pine Swamp Road, Wrentham Road, and Diamond Hill Road. The work includes removal and replacement of guardrail and end treatments; roadway excavation, milling, hot-mix asphalt preparation and overlay; curb, sidewalk, drainage, erosion-control, and water-quality improvements; mumble strips; pavement markings; signs; rural mailbox replacements; and temporary traffic protection. The project also includes furnishing and installing a new signalized intersection, including mast arms, signal controllers and cabinets, field monitoring equipment, vehicle and pedestrian signal heads, loop detectors, conduit, wiring, solar-powered flashing warning sign systems, and associated foundations. Federal-aid requirements include Buy America compliance, federal forms, Title VI assurances, debarment certification, anti-collusion certification, and disclosure of lobbying activities. The specified substantial completion date is August 26, 2027, and final acceptance is required by May 28, 2028, with liquidated damages of $1,950 per calendar day for missed dates.
