The Alabama Department of Mental Health is soliciting bids for temporary nursing assistant services at Bryce Hospital, Taylor Hardin Secure Medical, and Mary Starke Harper Geriatric Center. Services are needed on an as-needed basis, including weekends and holidays, with personnel available within two hours of request. The department expects to award primary and backup vendors for each facility and does not guarantee a minimum usage level. Contractors must provide qualified nursing assistants trained in CPR, first aid, and specified nurse-assistant subjects; conduct background checks, drug screening, health and tuberculosis screening, reference checks, and performance evaluations; and provide documentation of qualifications and screening results. The contractor must maintain staffing rosters, provide 24/7 administrative scheduling support, replace no-show personnel within two hours, and comply with applicable healthcare, confidentiality, civil-rights, and facility standards. The bid requires proof of liability, workers' compensation, and bonding insurance, a sample job evaluation form, at least five customer references, an E-Verify memorandum of understanding, and a signed and notarized bid. The contract term is 24 months, with possible third-, fourth-, and fifth-year 12-month extensions.
