Description
The City of Tuscaloosa is soliciting sealed bids for a fiber optic network expansion project intended to improve network resiliency. The work includes placing overhead utilities underground, boring redundant underground routes to existing service locations, expanding routes to new service locations, installing underground conduit, and installing junction boxes. The City will provide junction boxes, HDPE conduit on spools, and couplers. The contractor must obtain its own utility locates, perform the boring, pull and install the City-provided conduit, install the provided junction boxes, and mechanically couple all underground bore pipe using only the provided couplers. Electronic bids may be submitted through the designated bidding portal, and a mandatory pre-bid conference is required for general contractors wishing to submit a bid.
