Description
The City of Tampa Arts and Cultural Affairs Department is soliciting quotes for professional conservation framing of seven acrylic woodcut prints on paper in the City's permanent public art collection. The work requires museum-level, archival-grade framing that is fully reversible without damaging the artwork; the existing acid-free foam-core backing must remain unless the City authorizes its removal or replacement. Frames are approximately 57 1/4 inches by 33 inches, and the artwork may be framed on-site or delivered for off-site framing before delivery to a City-designated location. City staff will perform installation. Required materials include 99% UV-filtering, shatter-resistant, non-glare acrylic glazing; natural wood frames with a 1-inch face and 2-inch depth; 4-ply, 100% cotton rag conservation mat board; 3/8-inch archival spacers; 3/4-inch strainers; archival barrier tape for rabbet lining; heavy-duty corrosion-resistant D-rings or French cleats; and conservation-grade, reversible adhesives, tapes, mounting materials, and other components. Bidders must have at least three years of professional conservation or museum-quality framing experience and warrant workmanship for at least one year after completion.
