Description
Delaware State University is seeking a qualified firm to provide comprehensive fundraising campaign consulting as an extension of its External Affairs Division. The selected consultant will provide strategic counsel and hands-on implementation support, including campaign readiness and strategy, principal-gift planning, gift-table refinement, donor cultivation and solicitation coaching, prospect-pipeline development, governance and volunteer-leadership development, executive coaching, campaign operations, change management, and communications and branding. Phase I centers on the Athletic Transformation Campaign, which has a $10 million goal allocated to a new athletic field, student scholarships, and community and economic impact. The campaign is in a soft-launch phase, with a campaign website already live; the consultant will provide website strategy only, while university staff will perform the technical build. The consultant will also support professionally designed campaign collateral and creative assets, with hard production costs treated as itemized reimbursable expenses rather than included in the retainer or phase-based fee. Phase II will plan and implement a broader comprehensive campaign addressing academic priorities, scholarships, endowment growth, research, capital projects, and community engagement. The university uses Blackbaud Raiser's Edge for constituent and donor tracking. The desired timeline calls for gift-table refinement and executive recommendations within 30 days, principal-gift strategy and dashboard implementation within 60 days, and public-launch readiness within 90 days of mobilization. The contract term is three years with two optional one-year extensions.
