Description
The Trustees of The California State University, on behalf of California State University, Fullerton, are requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified design-build teams consisting of a general contractor and architect. The selected team would provide Phase 1 design and preconstruction services, including programming, schematic design, cost management, scheduling, agency approvals, and development of a guaranteed maximum price. If authorized, Phase 2 would provide design-build construction services under a separate agreement; the Trustees are not obligated to proceed with Phase 2. The project will renovate and expand the Titan Student Union and Student Recreation Center to support Associated Students, Incorporated's student wellness initiative. Work includes approximately 48,000 square feet of Titan Student Union renovations, an 18,900-square-foot addition, approximately 92,000 square feet of Student Recreation Center renovations, approximately 25,000 square feet of new recreation-center construction, and approximately 44,000 square feet of site improvements. Facilities will include dining and kitchen areas, meeting and office spaces, recreation and fitness areas, Basic Needs programs, and a Wellness Center. The direct construction cost budget is approximately $215,960,000. The design-builder must hold a California B general building contractor license, maintain California Department of Industrial Relations public-works registration, obtain CSU prequalification, use a California-licensed architect, comply with a three percent DVBE subcontracting requirement, and submit a completed Skilled and Trained Workforce Agreement.
