Description

The City of Lakeland Water Utilities Department is soliciting a qualified Peerless and Flowserve pump contractor to provide annual inspection, preventative maintenance, teardown, repair, testing, transportation, reinstallation, startup, disinfection, and emergency support for vertical turbine and split-case horizontal pumps. The work covers high-service, backwash, transfer, and booster pumps at the T.B. Williams and C. Wayne Combee Water Treatment Plants and the Highlands, Southwest, and Southeast Booster Stations. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, cranes, rigging, transportation, repair quotations, inspection reports, testing data, and recommendations for repair or replacement. Technical requirements include replacement of bearings, O-rings, seals, wear rings, shafting, and other components as needed; food-grade epoxy coating; impeller inspection and approved replacement; alignment and vibration testing; potable-water disinfection; and final operational startup. The contractor must coordinate work to minimize service disruptions and provide a one-year warranty on workmanship and materials from startup of each repaired pump. The proposal requires a completed and signed W-9, current Florida business-registration documentation, a notarized Hold Harmless/Indemnification Agreement, a notarized Human Trafficking Affidavit, a certificate of insurance or affidavit of insurability, required portal questionnaire certifications, and at least three references for similar municipal work completed within the last five years. The contract term is October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with up to four additional one-year renewals by mutual written agreement.
