Description
Ballard Community School District is requesting Category 1 broadband proposals for two components: bundled internet access delivered to the district hub, with capacities from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps, and leased lit or dark fiber connecting the hub to four remote sites. The hub is at the district middle school, and the remote sites include two elementary schools, a high school, and a bus garage. Dark fiber proposals must separately price recurring lease fees, maintenance and operations, and any special construction, with pricing requested for 12-, 36-, 60-, and 120-month terms. Lit fiber proposals must provide fully managed, end-to-end transport with symmetrical throughput of at least 1 Gbps, upgradeability, and vendor-managed electronics and network maintenance. If required, special construction must include itemized construction, design and engineering, and project management costs and must be operational by May 30, 2027. Proposals must address connectivity type, firewall eligibility, ineligible charges, public IP availability, testing, taxes and fees, and E-Rate discounted billing. Vendors must comply with FCC Lowest Corresponding Price requirements and restrictions on covered telecommunications equipment and services.
