Description
The City is soliciting construction bids for approximately 7,700 linear feet of 6- to 16-inch water main, including new hydrants, valves, connections, and related work. The scope also includes water service line installation and replacement, including work on private property where specified, as well as associated sanitary and storm sewer work, traffic control, excavation, backfill, testing, disinfection, and restoration of pavement, sidewalks, driveways, and landscaping. Bids are unit-price based, and the bid security must equal 10% of the base bid. The successful bidder must be prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation or the Illinois Capital Development Board and perform at least 30% of the work with its own forces unless the City consents otherwise. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required to submit a bid.
