Description
The project involves installing approximately 4,900 linear feet of 6-inch and 8-inch water main, including new hydrants, valves, fittings, and related water service connections and replacements. Work also includes associated sewer and storm sewer repairs, abandonment of existing water mains and appurtenances, and restoration of affected pavement, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, lawns, and parkways. The contractor must complete the work in designated work areas, meet interim completion requirements, and provide traffic control, utility locating and digital as-built data collection, testing, disinfection, and required project documentation. Bidders must be prequalified with the Illinois Department of Transportation or the Illinois Capital Development Board, attend the mandatory pre-bid conference, provide bid security equal to 10% of the base bid, and meet the stated disadvantaged-business outreach and affirmative-effort requirements. The contract also requires the contractor to perform at least 30% of the work with its own forces unless the Owner approves otherwise.
