Description
The DuPage County Coroner's Office seeks histological services for postmortem examinations and other referred casework. Work includes processing tissue cassettes, embedding tissue in paraffin blocks, sectioning blocks, preparing microscope slides, routine hematoxylin and eosin staining, and providing unstained slides, special stains, recuts, and decalcification as requested. The provider must track specimens from receipt through delivery, label slides with case numbers, perform quality control and assurance, and return all materials in an organized manner. The scope includes pickup of tissue cassettes in formalin and delivery of processed specimens and slides, with a stated turnaround of the next day or two days.
