Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a five-year fixed-price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for offsite pathology and laboratory medicine services. The contractor must perform pre-analytic processing, clinical and anatomical pathology testing, cytology, histology, molecular and other laboratory analyses, result reporting and interpretation, global case review, and as-needed autopsy services. The scope includes furnishing laboratory personnel, facilities, equipment, supplies, specimen collection and transportation materials, courier services, and compliant handling of biomedical and hazardous specimens. Services will support participating facilities in Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island, Nebraska. The contractor must meet specified turnaround times, maintain required CLIA and other laboratory accreditations, provide appropriately licensed and credentialed personnel, support VA information-security and HIPAA requirements, return slides and blocks to VA for permanent storage as required, and provide quality, regulatory, billing, and performance reports. The contract has a stated minimum of $2,000 and maximum of $8,000,000 for the five-year ordering period, with an additional potential six-month service extension.
