Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue a future RFP for a requirements contract covering comprehensive reference and esoteric laboratory testing services for five VA medical facilities. The contractor would provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, information technology, supplies, supervision, and consumables needed to perform the work. The anticipated scope includes routine and STAT specimen pickup and transportation, pre-analytic processing and preservation, laboratory analysis, electronic and hardcopy reporting, direct interface with the VA VistA Laboratory Information System, consultation on test selection and specimen requirements, maintenance of required certifications and accreditations, and compliance with HIPAA and VA information-security requirements. This is a presolicitation notice only; no proposals or quotations are requested at this time, and the complete statement of work will be provided with the formal solicitation.
