Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases anticipates multiple IDIQ base contract awards to organizations that can support one or more of four task areas: small-animal models, non-human-primate models, animal-replacement and non-traditional models, and generation and distribution of specialized reagents. Work includes developing and refining models and evaluating candidate vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics through activities such as safety, efficacy, dose, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic studies. Animal-replacement work may include organoids, organs-on-chips, and other tissue-based systems, including studies that bridge animal and replacement-model data. The contracts will establish a pool of qualified organizations eligible to compete for future task orders. The scope includes producing specialized biological materials and reagents, and may support studies conducted under Good Laboratory Practices or the FDA Animal Efficacy Rule. Offerors may propose for one or more task areas and may use partners, consultants, or subcontractors, while remaining responsible for all work and deliverables. Proposals are to be submitted through the NIAID electronic Contract Proposal Submission website; the notice does not provide proposal-content requirements or a contract period.
