Description
The Town of Canton is soliciting sealed bids for improvements at the Spruce Street water storage tank site. The work generally includes demolition of the existing 750,000-gallon tank and associated structures; grading and site improvements; construction of a new 400,000-gallon water storage tank; installation of an electric control valve and associated piping; and related accessories and appurtenances shown in the plans and specifications. Equipment manufacturers must be prequalified by the engineer before bid opening where required by the contract documents. Prequalification submittals for ground-mounted glass-coated steel storage tanks under Section 221219 are due by September 7, 2026. Bids must include a 5 percent bid bond or qualifying bid deposit, and bidders must hold the required North Carolina contractor licensing. The solicitation also requires compliance with applicable minority-business outreach, federal labor, nondiscrimination, and related regulatory requirements.
