Description
The City seeks a qualified operator of permitted organic-waste receiving, transfer, and processing facilities to handle green and food materials and street sweepings on an as-needed basis. Services must maximize recovery and beneficial use while minimizing landfill disposal, with compliant processing, transfer, contingency arrangements, certified weighing, and monthly and annual reporting. The primary receiving facility must be within 15 road miles of 548 West Chevy Chase Drive in Glendale, California, and be able to accept up to approximately 75 tons per day of City-generated material. Bidders must describe their facilities, processing methods, capacity, recovery and residual rates, end products, contingency facilities, contamination policies, and proposed per-ton prices for green/food material and street sweepings. The City will evaluate responsive and responsible bids based on the lowest price for the applicable material stream(s), and may award separate streams to different vendors. The agreement is stated to be effective January 15, 2027, through January 14, 2030. Insurance documents are required from the selected vendor after notification and before work begins, not with the initial quote.
