Description
The City of San Jose is soliciting sealed bids for the design and construction of ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps at various citywide locations in preparation for the 2027 Pavement Maintenance Program. The work includes constructing new wheelchair-accessibility ramps, curb and gutter, and sidewalk, along with removing and replacing adjacent asphalt concrete pavement. The engineer’s estimate is $2,365,000. Bidders must hold a valid California contractor’s license in classification A or C-8, and the bidder and designated subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations. The project is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, the City’s Project Labor Agreement, wage-theft-prevention requirements, and California Air Resources Board off-road diesel-fleet requirements. A bid bond of at least 10% is required; the awarded contractor must provide payment and faithful-performance bonds, each for 100% of the contract amount. Bids must be submitted online through the designated procurement platform.
