Description
HeartLands Conservancy is soliciting bids for ecological restoration at the 40-acre Knoll Family Wildlife Sanctuary. The work includes invasive species removal in an approximately five-acre priority area; cut-stump herbicide treatment using triclopyr or glyphosate where appropriate; and hauling away and disposing of woody debris piles. Target species include Bradford pear, honeysuckle, autumn olive, wintercreeper, cedar, and other non-native invasive trees and shrubs. Cut vegetation may be chipped or hauled off site, and mechanical removal must be followed by chemical treatment on appropriate species to prevent regrowth. Bidders must provide itemized pricing for Task 1 and Task 2 and for the full scope, a cover letter, a one- to two-page overview of services and qualifications, resumes or qualifications for lead and key personnel including licensing, two or three comparable sample projects completed within the last five years, and a certificate of liability insurance. Sample projects should demonstrate land restoration, invasive species removal, habitat restoration involving threatened and endangered species, and habitat maintenance experience. A project completion report with photographic documentation will be required after the work is completed. HLC may accept partial bids and will evaluate scope, schedule, budget, qualifications, relevant past performance, and proximity to the project site.
