Description
The City of Evanston is seeking an experienced firm to replace the Sherman Plaza parking garage fire alarm system. The scope includes the fire alarm control panel, transponders, associated modules and interfaces, wiring, wire mold, conduit, trim, input devices, notification devices, elevator interfaces, emergency communication devices, annunciators, and related components. The system must be nonproprietary, compatible with applicable existing building systems and field devices, and comply with the 2021 International Fire Code, 2021 International Building Code, 2019 NFPA and NEC requirements, the Illinois Accessibility Code, and local ordinances. The contractor must provide site surveying, system design, permitting, installation, programming, testing, commissioning, certification, training, digital permit and as-built documentation, system manuals, programming details, warranty information, and a zone list and maps. The work also includes coordinating the transition from the existing monitoring system, maintaining existing equipment during installation, and integrating applicable elevator, HVAC, building automation, smoke-control, suppression, emergency-power, and emergency-communication functions. The contract term desired is six months. Proposals must include firm qualifications, at least four and no more than ten similar projects completed or undertaken within the past five years, references, assigned personnel resumes, pricing, contract exceptions, required compliance documentation, and applicable M/W/D/EBE participation or waiver materials.
