Description
The City of Boston Public Facilities Department is seeking a qualified owner's project manager (OPM) for the feasibility study and schematic design phases of the Madison Park Technical Vocational High School project. The anticipated project includes construction, demolition, additions, and/or renovation, with an estimated project cost of $650 million to $700 million, subject to Massachusetts School Building Authority approval. The City is considering the Construction Management at Risk delivery method, and the project may be subject to a Project Labor Agreement. The OPM will monitor and manage project participants; provide recommendations; perform cost estimating, value engineering, constructability, and scheduling analyses; and monitor resolution of issues affecting schedule or cost. Applicants must demonstrate experience with Construction Management at Risk, Massachusetts K-12 school construction and renovation, Northeast Collaborative High Performance Schools criteria and/or LEED Silver projects, and urban school environments with site constraints. This is a qualifications-based, two-phase selection process involving qualifications review and short-listed-firm interviews. The selected firm will negotiate a fee for feasibility and schematic design services, with potential contract amendments for later design, bidding, construction, and occupancy services if the project receives further funding approval.
