The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority is seeking applications to build and expand training capacity that upskills existing workers employed in clean energy jobs. Eligible training may include delivery of existing training or development and delivery of new training, as well as enhancement of clean energy content for post-secondary and career and technical education programs connected to clean energy occupations. The revised solicitation clarifies that projects primarily training employees of the applicant organization are not intended to be funded. Funding may support training in energy efficiency and building electrification, renewable energy, energy storage, smart grid and electric distribution or transmission, and electric vehicle charging stations. Applicants may request $75,000 to $500,000 and must provide cost share of 15% for existing training or 25% for new training, reduced to 5% and 15%, respectively, when more than half of participants are disadvantaged-community residents or members of priority populations. Applicants must be registered to do business in New York, maintain a New York office or training location, and demonstrate relevant technical training experience. Training must serve New York residents or employees of New York firms participating in qualifying programs; in-person training must occur in New York State.
