Description

The City of Santa Cruz is soliciting sealed bids from contractors prequalified through RFQ No. ED-2026-01 for tenant improvements at a new downtown public library. The work includes mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire protection and detection, low-voltage telecommunications, audiovisual and security infrastructure, HVAC distribution, interior partitions, glazing, ceilings, finishes, millwork, casework, metalwork, interior and exterior signage, cantilevered metal library shelving, main and mezzanine stairs, minor structural work, and roof-deck elements including decking, pedestals, soffits, planting areas, lighting, electrical work, and photovoltaic infrastructure. Security equipment is owner furnished and owner installed. The project is limited to prequalified contractors and requires furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision, and management. Bids must be submitted electronically through OpenGov by the stated deadline. The solicitation requires a mandatory pre-bid meeting, bid forms and certifications, references, acknowledgment of addenda, a bid security of at least 10 percent, and compliance with prevailing-wage, DIR registration, licensing, insurance, bonding, disadvantaged-business-enterprise, local hiring, apprenticeship, and other applicable requirements.
