Description
Miami-Dade County is soliciting a lump-sum contractor to renovate the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Kendall Station, including the district restroom and locker room, gym, and desk operations center. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, tools, transportation, permits, inspections, and related services; remove and lawfully dispose of debris; perform daily housekeeping; and maintain the site in broom-clean condition. The price must include an asbestos survey and, if applicable, abatement of non-friable asbestos. The awarded contractor must obtain required permits within 30 days of the notice to proceed and complete all required inspections and approvals. Work must generally occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with advance approval required for work outside those hours. Because the facility is high security, all workers must provide identification and pass background checks. Bidders must demonstrate at least two renovation projects in high-security police facilities completed within the last five years. The project has an estimated value of $1,200,000, a 280-calendar-day completion period, required bid and performance/payment bonds, and required insurance coverage.
