Description
The Water and Sewerage Corporation is soliciting bids for a lump-sum construction contract to improve potable water access in South Bimini, covering Airport Road and Port Royal. The work includes supplying and installing approximately 60 feet of 6-inch C900 DR 18 PVC water main, 27,725 feet of 4-inch C900 DR 18 PVC water main, 680 feet of 2-inch SDR 21 PVC water main, approximately 133 service connections, valves, washouts, air-release valves, hydrants, fittings, culvert crossings, and associated appurtenances. The contractor must perform trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, road and surface reinstatement, tie-ins, pressure testing, chlorination, disinfection, commissioning, and preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation. Bidders must demonstrate relevant water-main construction experience, financial capacity, qualified personnel, suitable trenching and pipe-laying equipment, and environmental, social, health, and safety capability. The contract has an expected 12-month duration, with a performance bond equal to 25% of the contract price and a 25% advance payment subject to security. The contractor may not subcontract any portion of the work and must implement the required environmental and social management measures.
