Description

The City of Miami is soliciting bids for construction work at Fire Rescue Stations 2, 9, and 12. The work includes removal and disposal of existing doors, windows, louvers, and selected HVAC equipment, followed by installation of hurricane-impact and wind-resistant doors, windows, overhead or bifold bay doors, metal louvers, and related hardware meeting Florida Building Code Category IV essential-facility requirements. Station-specific work also includes HVAC replacement, electrical-panel upgrades, roof replacement, lightning protection, flood panels, permits, traffic control, staging, testing, shop drawings, manufacturer certifications, and coordination to maintain emergency operations. The estimated construction costs are $1,778,853.23 for Station 2, $1,234,327.05 for Station 9, and $2,462,241.34 for Station 12. Bidders must hold a Florida Certified General Contractor license for at least five years, demonstrate at least five years of experience under the current business name, submit three comparable project references using Form ITB-GCR, and self-perform at least 10% of the physical construction labor. The solicitation is federally funded and requires Davis-Bacon compliance, insurance, a 5% bid guarantee for contracts over $250,000, and 100% performance and payment bonds. Addendum No. 1 states that the ITB has been placed on hold until further notice.
