New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking competitive proposals for projects that will develop and improve maritime ports across New York State. The initiative aims to enhance the state's capacity to support the offshore wind industry while also accommodating diverse commercial activities. This approach ensures resilience against market fluctuations and promotes job retention and growth within New York. The scope of projects is broad, potentially including large-scale upgrades for product manufacturing, as well as smaller enhancements for onshore logistics or vessel repair. Projects should demonstrate viability for both near- and long-term commercial uses, even if their primary offshore wind industry application is delayed. NYSERDA may conduct multiple rounds of proposal submissions. Updates to RFP 6041 include changes to the Due Date for Round 1 from March 26, 2026, to April 2, 2026, and the anticipated start date for Round 2 has been moved to April 2, 2026. Additionally, Appendix B has been updated to include Exhibit E, Exhibit G, and Exhibit H.
