Description
This solicitation concerns a firm-fixed-price construction contract to convert two existing barrack buildings at Joint Base Lewis-McChord into operational facilities for three command levels. The buildings, referred to as the Hammer Heads and Hammer Handles, include single- and three-story structures, a crawl space, and a basement utility mechanical and electrical room extending partially beneath both buildings. The work includes hazardous-material and debris abatement, demolition of approximately 75% of the exterior building envelopes and interior walls, removal of approximately 90% of the existing mechanical and electrical systems, and removal of the existing EPDM roof system while retaining the roof framing. New work includes exterior-envelope construction, mechanical and electrical systems, and a TPO roofing system, along with coordination for a new utility connection and shared construction boundaries with adjacent projects. The anticipated firm-fixed-price award will use a best-value tradeoff process and is a total small-business set-aside.
