Description
Onslow County Schools is seeking reconditioning and recertification services for approximately 800 high school and 800 middle school football helmets. Work includes inspecting, disassembling, cleaning, and sanitizing helmets; sandblasting, painting, and buffing as needed; and reinstalling or replacing pads, hardware, and facemasks with approved like items. Reconditioned helmets must be recertified to current-year NOCSAE standards and receive the required certification and warning labels. The vendor must provide written proof with its bid that it meets NOCSAE recertification requirements. The scope also includes pricing for optional facemask replacement and painting, pickup and return of equipment, and insurance against loss while equipment is with the vendor. Repaired equipment must be returned by April 1 for high schools and August 1 for middle schools. The contract covers requirements through June 30, 2027, with possible annual extensions for up to four additional years.
