Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting bids for approximately 6,250 tons of bulk rock salt meeting AASHTO M143, Sodium Chloride Type 1, Grade 1 requirements. The salt must be 95–98% pure sodium chloride, contain no more than 2.5% moisture, be unwashed and lump-free, and be delivered without packaging. Reclaimed or re-crushed salt and loads containing foreign materials or lumps larger than two inches will not be accepted. The contractor must furnish and deliver the salt between January 1 and June 1, 2027, after receiving a notice to proceed. Deliveries must be made by covered trucks with tailgate dump trailers, accompanied by certified scale tickets, and coordinated 24–48 hours in advance. Delivery is required to the Public Works Dome at 2185 Liberty Street, using the New York Street entrance at 2100 East New York Street, and the Kautz Road Salt Dome at 1150 Kautz Road. The bid requires electronic submission through the City's procurement system, a 5% bid bond, references for comparable salt or material deliveries, specified certifications, a compliant certificate of insurance, and other required vendor forms.
