Description
DARPA's Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO) is soliciting revolutionary research ideas under this Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for topics not addressed by ongoing programs. The office seeks proposals in three primary thrust areas: AI Innovation and Execution (energy-efficient, assured AI for edge and warfighter needs), Inherent Security and Privacy (systems that are inherently secure and private), and Resilient Megasystems (abstractions for complex systems like supply chains and power grids). Proposals outside these thrusts are considered if they offer decisive information or computational advantage. The BAA emphasizes unconventional, high-risk approaches that could radically change established practices, specifically excluding evolutionary improvements. DARPA strongly encourages the use of formal methods to achieve resilient software. Proposers must submit an abstract first; full proposals are by invitation only.
