Description
The City seeks a contractor to improve sludge conveyor belt cleaning at its Water Pollution Control Facility. Work includes removing and replacing three primary belt cleaners, installing three wash boxes, connecting drain lines to nearby floor drains, reconnecting existing water piping to spray bars, and providing a complete working system. The contractor must verify field conditions, furnish labor, materials, and equipment, and perform checkout and startup. Shop drawings and product data for the primary cleaners and wash boxes, as well as operations and maintenance manuals, are required during contract performance. The work also includes construction cleanup, safety measures, required site-specific safety training, and coordination of conveyor shutdowns with facility staff. The bid requires three customer references for similar projects from the past three years, personnel and safety information, and a completed certification from the bidder's insurance agent or broker confirming the ability to obtain the required coverage. Payment and performance bonds equal to the contract price are required from the awarded contractor after award. The work may not be subcontracted without the City's prior written consent.
