Description
The State of Michigan, through the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget - Financial Services, is soliciting bids for a multi-shaft, low-speed, high-torque shredding system (40-60 HP). The system must be capable of securely and efficiently processing a wide range of sensitive and durable materials, including paper, plastics, uniforms, Kevlar, and limited metal objects. Interchangeable sizing screens must be supported for defined particle sizes, and the system must also function effectively without screens for larger or more rigid materials. The shredder should allow for safe manual hand-feeding without conveyors, enabling flexible placement within existing facility constraints. Vendors must provide an installation quote, delivery costs, setup, and on-site training as part of their proposal. Bids are due by 3:00 PM ET on July 7, 2026, and must be submitted electronically through www.michigan.gov/SIGMAVSS. The State reserves the right to modify the RFP, with any changes posted on the SIGMAVSS website. Questions must be submitted via email to the Solicitation Manager, Bethany Preston (PrestonB2@michigan.gov), by June 16, 2026. All submitted documents become public records upon receipt. The State requires a Certificate of Liability prior to the issuance of a Purchase Order, and quotes must be valid for 60 calendar days.
