Description
The Bureau of Reclamation is soliciting proposals for the manufacture and delivery of two stainless-steel wide-head range turbine runners for Units A2 and N7 at Hoover Dam. These runners must be hydraulically and dimensionally identical to existing Wide-Head runner designs previously installed in Units A1, N5, and N6. The scope of work includes the manufacturing and delivery of the turbine runners, associated runner cone and coupling bolts, design and installation of an air admission system, supply and installation of stationary seal rings, and in-place machining of these seal rings. The contractor will also provide an engineer to witness performance testing to ensure the new runners meet efficiency guarantees. The project is located at Hoover Dam and Powerplant, near Boulder City, Nevada, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The solicitation is being issued on a sole-source basis to Andritz Hydro due to their proprietary design expertise and proven performance with similar upgrades at Hoover Dam. The contract period of performance is from December 15, 2026, to December 14, 2028.
