Description
The Commonwealth of Kentucky is offering a license for the mixed timber harvest and sale at Clay Wildlife Management Area in Nicholas County. The awarded bidder will harvest marked timber from approximately 88.2 acres, with estimated timber volume of 178.7 MBF, and will have two years from execution of the license agreement to remove the timber and complete all contract requirements. Cutting is restricted to October 16 through March 31, and the bidder must comply with Kentucky Forest Conservation Act best management practices, KDFWR approvals, environmental protections, and operational restrictions. The bidder is responsible for planning and performing logging operations, maintaining and restoring roads, trails, landings, bridges, and drainage features, controlling erosion, seeding retired areas, protecting residual trees and infrastructure, and addressing any damage caused by operations. A Kentucky Master Logger must be present during harvesting. The bid requires a lump-sum payment for the timber, a mandatory $45,356.34 wildlife and forestry equipment purchase, and an optional habitat-improvement credit of up to $17,700. The award will consider bid amount and prior work quality based on references. The submission must include the completed Form of Proposal, signed authentication and non-collusion affidavit, notarized required campaign-finance affidavit, up to three landowner references, and the lump-sum bid information.
