Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Texarkana is soliciting quotes for the replacement of the CMS Transformer located at 4001 Leopard Drive, Texarkana, Texas. The existing transformer (Power Zone, 500 KVA, 208Y/120 Volts) is located east of the groundwater tank and north of the CMS building and feeds four buildings within the secure perimeter, as well as lighting for recreation. The project scope includes furnishing all required engineering, permits, tools, and insurance necessary for the transformer replacement. The new transformer is specified as an Eaton-brand, or equal, secondary unit substation, oil-filled, with feed-through primary switching and front-access switchboard secondary equipment. The replacement also involves removing the existing transformer and its associated air switch, and the new substation must accommodate medium voltage feed, have a 1,600 AMP main breaker, and a secondary panel capable of taking up to six three-phase breakers. The project also includes the installation of several generators (350KW, 176KW, 120KW, 120KW, and 100KW) at various locations within the facility, along with associated wiring and conduit installation. The total estimated duration for the project is 33 weeks from the date of award.
