Description
The Saint Louis Zoo seeks vendors to supply frozen whole prey for animal consumption, including rats, mice, rabbits, chicks, quail, and guinea pigs. The agreement is non-exclusive, with no guaranteed minimum purchases or compensation; orders will be issued at the Zoo’s discretion. The pricing form requests unit pricing by product and pack count, as well as delivery, shipping, packaging, fuel surcharge, minimum-order, and expedited or off-day delivery charges. Vendors must meet product quality, hygiene, traceability, and colony-health requirements, and provide reliable supply continuity. Deliveries must use insulated packaging with seasonal heat or cold packs and be made to the Zoo’s distribution center; overnight shipments are acceptable if guaranteed for morning delivery. Proposals are evaluated on product quality and animal-health practices, delivery reliability and supply continuity, experience and references, and cost. The initial contract term runs from January 1, 2027, or the date of the last authorized signature, whichever is later, through December 31, 2028, with up to two additional one-year renewals by mutual written agreement.
