Description
The School Food Authority (SFA) is soliciting proposals from qualified Food Service Management Companies (FSMC) to manage and operate its nonprofit school food service program for the 2023-2024 school year. The selected FSMC will be responsible for the preparation and service of meals in accordance with USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) regulations, including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), and other child nutrition programs as indicated. The contract is a fixed-price contract with a base term of one year commencing July 1, 2023, and may be renewed for up to four additional one-year periods. The FSMC will provide all management, staffing, food purchasing, menu development (following SFA-provided 21-day menu cycles), and operational services, while the SFA retains control of the nonprofit school food service account and overall financial responsibility. The proposal must include a price proposal form with fixed per-meal rates, and the contract will be awarded based on price and other evaluation criteria.
