The National Park Service is planning an Invitation for Bid using a sealed-bid process for construction services to replace aging fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems at the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. The existing systems experience significant false alarms and are difficult for local service organizations to maintain; the replacement systems must be nonproprietary so local organizations can service them. The work will cover the Lower District, Namekagon District, and Marshland District. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price, with work to be completed within 305 calendar days after the start date specified in the Notice to Proceed. The estimated magnitude is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000, and construction wage-rate requirements for Polk County will apply. The project is set aside for 100% total small business. A formal solicitation with construction specifications is expected to be issued on or about October 15, 2026; the response deadline will be established in that solicitation and is anticipated to be approximately 40 days after issuance.
