Description
Anoka County is soliciting bids from one prime contractor for accessibility improvements at Wargo Nature Center. The project consists of selective demolition and remodeling of interior toilet rooms, including new polished concrete flooring, gypsum-board ceilings and partitions, painted and masonry finishes, doors and hardware, toilet accessories, casework with integral sinks, plumbing fixtures and piping, ventilation, electrical conduit and wiring, interior lighting, fire alarm modifications, and related fire-suppression adjustments. The work includes prevailing-wage requirements, a mandatory pre-bid conference, a 5 percent bid security requirement, and performance and labor-and-material payment bonds for contracts of $175,000 or more. The contractor must complete the work with at least 60 percent of the work performed by its own workforce, submit the required responsible-contractor verification, provide an anticipated construction schedule and staffing plan, and meet the stated insurance, background-check, subcontractor, and completion requirements.
