ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received by Alabama Historical Commission at the Alabama Historical Commission, Carriage House 469 South Court Street, Montgomery, AL 36104 until 2:30 PM CST September 10, 2026 for Alabama Historical Commission Parking Lot Improvements (Drawings and Specifications Dated July 24, 2026) at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Historical Commission in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of Seay, Seay & Litchfield Architects, 1115 South Court Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104 and (appropriate plan rooms; i.e. F.W. Dodge, Builders Exchange, Construction Market Data, etc.). Electronic files of the Bid Documents may be viewed and downloaded online free of charge via the Architect's online plan-room. Questions pertaining to accessing the documents should be directed to Casey M. Ivy (civy@sslarch.com) at Seay, Seay & Litchfield, P.C. at (334) 263-5162. These documents shall be used only for the purpose of bidding and construction of this project. Anyone logging into the site for plans and specifications through the website will be notified of all addenda via email. The architect retains all copyrights and ownership of the documents. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 AM Central Time, at the Alabama Historical Commission, Carriage House located at 469 South Court Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. Interested bidders are required to attend. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect (Engineer) or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect (Engineer); the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
