Description
The City of Cumberland seeks engineering services for the Public Safety Building HVAC upgrade. The scope includes developing construction contract documents; designing replacement chillers, boilers, VAV terminals, and air-handling equipment components; upgrading the existing automatic temperature-control system; providing gas detection and monitoring; and designing a new prisoner-processing area with supporting HVAC equipment. All work must meet or exceed the Maryland Building Energy Performance Standards. Addendum No. 1 clarifies that the 180-calendar-day contract duration applies to the design portion. The scope also now includes a building assessment for hazardous materials, performed by a qualified and/or licensed individual or subcontractor, including physical sampling and testing of 30 samples and a final report submitted with the preliminary design. The project may be subject to Maryland Buy America policies because of an MEA grant. Bids must include a complete copy of Addendum No. 1.
