Description
The City of Salem, Massachusetts is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide leak detection services for its water transmission and distribution system. The scope of services includes system-wide surveys and follow-on surveys for areas where leaks have been detected and repaired. The City is seeking submissions from firms utilizing conventional acoustic/correlator technologies. The contract term is one year with two optional one-year extensions. The City reserves the right to engage a single firm or multiple firms. Services may require night and/or weekend work to obtain satisfactory ambient conditions, and personnel must comply with all traffic regulations and City safety procedures. The firm will be responsible for furnishing all equipment, labor, materials, and transportation necessary to conduct the surveys. The City anticipates surveys may be conducted using acoustic listening equipment, followed by correlator technologies for leak pinpointing.
