The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order for one Republic Lagun Machine Tool American Turnmaster Precision Engine Lathe, Model ML-1760, complete with standard and specialized accessories. The equipment will support in-house precision machining, fabrication, and repair of hydro turbine and generator components, including large slip rings, for 29 hydroelectric generating units at Chief Joseph Dam. The lathe must have Tri-V bedways and a spindle bore exceeding 3 inches. The proposed equipment must also satisfy Buy American Act requirements. The notice is not a request for competitive quotes, but interested parties capable of meeting all requirements may submit a capability statement for consideration before the Government decides whether to proceed without competition.
