Description
Bucks County is soliciting a contractor to tear off the existing roof and replace it with architectural dimensional shingles, including starter strips, aluminum drip caps, ice and water shield, synthetic underlayment, ridge ventilation, and matching hip and ridge caps. The work also includes removal and replacement of flashing, gutters, downspouts, fasteners, and damaged or rotted wood that cannot properly hold fasteners. New gutters and downspouts must be white seamless aluminum installed according to the manufacturer's requirements. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, debris removal, tarps, dumpsters, waste-management planning, and property protection. Work is limited to Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The project includes a $5,000 contract allowance for approved wood-substrate replacement, with separate unit prices required for wood-substrate and fascia-board replacement. Pennsylvania prevailing-wage requirements apply; a 5% bid security is required, and the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds plus a 10% maintenance bond. The contractor must perform at least 15% of its labor with its own forces; brokers are not qualified bidders.
