Description
The City of Springfield is conducting the first phase of a two-phase procurement to prequalify construction manager at risk firms for the German Gerena Community School project. The selected firms will provide comprehensive pre-construction and construction-phase services and collaborate with the City, Skanska USA Building, DiNisco Design, and the Massachusetts School Building Authority. Only firms deemed qualified through this RFQ may participate in the subsequent RFP phase. The project includes a new three-story building of approximately 124,000 square feet at the proposed 495 Chestnut Street site. The estimated construction cost is $114 million, with an estimated construction duration of 26 months; construction is expected to begin in spring or summer 2028, with occupancy anticipated in summer 2030. Respondents must submit a signed Statement of Qualifications under pains and penalties of perjury.
