The Town of West Springfield, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking sealed bids for a Massachusetts-qualified electrical contractor to remove and replace hazardous-location lighting systems at three wastewater pump stations. The scope includes demolition and disposal of existing fixtures, emergency lighting, exit signs, wiring, conduit, boxes, fittings, and supports; installation of six explosion-proof LED lighting fixtures, 15 emergency explosion-proof lighting fixtures and exit signs, hazardous-location conduit and fittings, conductors, grounding and bonding systems, breakers, disconnects, and related accessories; and testing, commissioning, cleanup, as-built drawings, and manufacturer documentation. The project budget is $300,000. Bidders must be DCAMM-certified in the electrical category, properly licensed in Massachusetts, and have at least five years of relevant commercial or industrial electrical experience, including hazardous-location work. The bid requires a 5% bid deposit, and the successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds, workers' compensation insurance, public liability insurance, and prevailing-wage compliance. All work must be completed by April 30, 2027.
