The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority is soliciting proposals for multifamily demonstration projects that are clean, resilient, beautiful, functional, and designed to provide healthy, safe, comfortable living spaces. Projects must meet or exceed specified minimum energy-performance standards and address benefits such as healthy indoor air quality and occupant comfort. Proposers must demonstrate project profitability and realistic cost reductions in the design and construction of clean, resilient buildings. Projects may serve all market sectors and building heights, with scoring consideration for advanced designs, disadvantaged-community locations, construction-document-phase projects, and adaptive reuse of commercial, institutional, or retail space for multifamily housing. Selected projects may receive up to $1.5 million in direct funding. The competition includes funding allocations for buildings of eight or more stories, buildings of seven or fewer stories, and affordable housing projects.
