Description
The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks custom-fabricated high-vacuum stainless-steel chambers for its Department of Physics. The requirement includes two central cell chambers, four transition chambers, and two tori chambers, with an option for two segmented tori chambers. Chambers must be fabricated to university drawings, use non-magnetic materials and welds, achieve a vacuum environment of 1 × 10⁻⁷ Torr, and meet specified dimensional, surface-finish, flange, weld, and sealing requirements. The vendor must supply all materials, mating flanges, gaskets, hardware, packaging, and shipping containers; perform machining, internal cleaning, assembly, helium leak testing, documentation, and final packaging; and provide a final design review, manufacturing documentation, material and weld integrity documentation, leak-check reports, and progress reports upon request. The chambers must be delivered FOB destination after written acceptance of inspection results. Bidders must be the original manufacturer or an authorized distributor/dealer with service and repair capabilities, have at least three years of relevant experience, and provide at least two references. Responses must include technical details, pricing, warranty information, country of origin and shipping information, and a completed specifications table.
