Description
The U.S. Special Operations Command Program Executive Office Maritime, Undersea, in collaboration with SOFWERX, is conducting a competitive Assessment Event for pressure-capable containment pods supporting large-format, propagation-resistant battery systems used in manned submersibles. The desired pods must provide watertight, pressure-resistant, and shock-resistant protection for the batteries. Respondents are expected to review government-provided designs for manufacturability, provide cost and schedule estimates, furnish Objective Quality Evidence, and potentially manufacture and deliver an initial quantity of one or more designs. Selected participants may present or demonstrate their solutions during a virtual assessment event. Potential follow-on awards may use non-FAR or FAR-based agreements, including prototype or research agreements, experimental procurement, cooperative research agreements, prizes, or a FAR-based procurement contract. Awardees may need to comply with NIST SP 800-171 requirements for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in non-federal systems.
