Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting market research for DNA buccal collection kits capable of supporting DNA databasing and upload to the National DNA Index System. The contemplated kit includes gloves, a pre-inked fingerprint pad, wipes, an FD-936 data form, a Bode Technology-manufactured buccal collection device, a drying envelope with desiccant, and collection instructions. The kit and its components must meet detailed barcode, packaging, storage, and compatibility requirements, including compatibility with the FBI’s BSD600 Ascent punch instrument. The vendor must be ISO-accredited and comply with ISO 9000 standards, and must be able to maintain 100,000 kits for immediate shipment or describe an alternative production and delivery capacity. This is a sources-sought RFI for market research, not a solicitation for proposals or quotes. Interested vendors are asked to submit a capability statement addressing their company and product information, commerciality, relevant capabilities and resources, and comments or suggestions on the contemplated requirements. Responses must be no more than 10 pages, with administrative information excluded from the limit; optional pricing must be provided separately and marked as price data. Responses must be unclassified, and proprietary information must be clearly marked page by page.
